Cadillac Celestiq – After weeks of speculation, Cadillac has finally revealed some details and photos of its new flagship car: the Cadillac Celestiq. Shown ahead of its production version, the Celestiq (pronounced seh-LEST-ick) concept captures the power and extravagance found in Cadillacs of old, but with a clear eye toward the future of luxury cars. Based on General Motors’ Ultium platform, the Celestiq sedan advances Cadillac’s all-electric ambitions and raises the bar for GM’s luxury division.
Based on the Ultium platform, there are some ideas about how much power this Cadillac can make. The company has revealed few specifications for this Celestiq show car, but it’s safe to assume that the performance will be as good as what we can see from Cadillac’s Lyriq or Chevrolet’s Blazer EV.
Cadillac Celestiq
The base model Lyriq sends 340 horsepower to the rear wheels, with a cab. This engine uses 102 kWh of electricity to travel 312 miles. The Chevrolet Blazer EV SS promises 557 horsepower from its two electric motors. Although, considering that the production variant will not hit the roads until the 2025 model year, these numbers could increase for the better. The Celestiq will come in either four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations to tap into luxury trends.

The LED screen is basically the entire face of the dashboard. The large surface joins four other screens to bring a total of five LED screens across the Celestiq. Controlling the light that can break the screens is the Smart Glass Roof, which can adjust the amount of light that passes over each occupant — occasionally. Cadillac also says the Celestiq will feature Ultra Cruise, which is the company’s next-generation driver assistance system.
Of course, there’s more to the cabin than just the size of the screens. The luxury four-seater EV is packed with a variety of advanced amenities that help establish the Celestiq as a fun machine. The seat shells appear to be inspired by the legendary Eames chairs, while the accented leather appears to be inspired by the future. It will be interesting how this cabin translates to production.
As for the outside, it’s easy. Cadillac says the Celestiq’s styling is inspired by mid-century architecture, namely the works of Eero Saarinen. Although it is much smaller than TWA Airlines, it is clear that the wavy and sharp lines are rooted in mid-century forms. However, the design isn’t quite a sedan, and the long roof makes it feel like a supercar.
Cadillac Celestiq Starts Around $340,000 Before Customization
More than just a show car, the Cadillac Celestiq gives us an idea of what to expect from an authorized production version. Cadillac says major details (like availability and features) are still to be found, but well-intentioned customers will have to wait a few years for Cadillac’s new flagship. GM didn’t reveal a release year, but photos of the Celestiq released to the media date it to the 2025 model year.
The Celestiq will also be the first vehicle built at the Saarinen-designed GM Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. Celestiq will be handwritten.

After a pandemic global semiconductor shortage, Cadillac stopped putting SuperCruise technology in cars, but brought it back with a push for the Celestiq. Not only can you drive without touching the steering wheel or pedals, but you can also change lanes without assistance using Automatic Lane Change. With this technology, the car decides when it would be best to change lanes and does so by turning on the lights and going in a new direction.
The construction of the car is also innovative. Cadillac ditched the coil spring suspension in favor of the Celestiq air suspension system, which made the travel longer. It is also combined with Magnetic Ride Control, a suspension technology with a very quick reaction time. Cadillac also introduced Active Roll Control where the front and rear frames have stabilizer bars to reduce roll force when cornering.
Another interesting feature is the active rear spoiler that activates at low speeds to make the car more aerodynamic. When speed increases, the spoiler rises to make sure the car stays balanced.
Celestiq also makes charging your EV easy. With 10 minutes at a public DC fast charging station, drivers will have a range of 78 miles, and Ultium Charge 360 technology allows access to 110,000 publicly available charging points across North America, all easily found in the MyCadillac Mobile app.

The Celestiq will come at a price, with the base model starting at $340,000, but with all the customization and new technology – and reduced environmental impact – it’s a must. Just be prepared to maintain your ride in the winter, as the 23-inch Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires, although designed specifically for Cadillac, only work in the summer.
