With drive to all four wheels, BMW says the new M5 can go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds – two-tenths slower than the outgoing M5 competition.

This is mainly due to the M5 PHEV weighing 2,435 kg, a significant increase of 540 kg over the M5 competition, mainly due to its battery.

All models delivered to Australia will be fitted with the M Driver’s Package, which raises the M5’s top speed from 250km/h to 305km/h.

But with the move towards electric power, the chances of getting the M7 petrol are not high. Instead, the electric M7 can be heard in the future.

Now, when it comes to the M9, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the possible model. The promising M9 from Munich has been talked about a lot, and like so many times before, the name may just be a coincidence. The M9 name has been hinted at before, and it could become a special model, just like the upcoming BMW XM, which doesn’t have a BMW range equivalent.
