Ford Mustang Mach Gt 2025 – The Ford Mustang Mach E has received several upgrades in the US, where it will soon receive a new electric motor, more range and faster charging time.
The update, due Down Under in 2025, will also see Ford revamp the US model range by dropping the flagship GT Performance variant, which will instead be part of a Performance Upgrade package.

The off-road-focused Mach E Rally, with a large rear wing, raised ride height and aero wheels, has also officially joined the US range after being unveiled late last year. US pricing for the Mach E Rally has been confirmed at $61,890.

It’s sad news for Australian buyers on that front, though, as it seems unlikely the Rally will be offered here.
“Updates for the Ford Mustang Mach E are expected to arrive in Australia in 2025,” a Ford spokesperson said. “We have no news to share regarding any plans to introduce the Ford Mach E Rally in Australia.”
Additional upgrades for the MY24 Mach E include subtle improvements to the menu structure and ergonomics of the large 15.5-inch central touchscreen, as well as additional equipment for select trim levels. Read on for all the details.
The biggest upgrade for the 2024 Mustang Mach E is a new rear electric motor that Ford says was “developed in-house by Ford engineers.” The new e-motor, available across the range, is lighter than the unit it replaces and delivers “improved torque” according to Ford.

The new engine also extends range, with the cheapest rear-wheel drive Select model now offering a range of 402 km (250 miles) on the EPA cycle. The mid-range Premium trim level, which uses a larger battery with longer range, also gets an extended range of up to 515 km.
If the estimates in that range seem lower than Australia’s, it’s because they’re based on the US-centric EPA cycle. Aussie series typically use the Euro WLTP figure, which is around 22 percent higher.
The most important takeaway? Ford says the updated Mach E Select and Premium can now travel 20 miles further than before.
Improved DC charging times are also part of the 2024 upgrade, with Ford claiming wait times have been reduced by up to 20 percent. Models with the larger, extended battery can now get a 10-80 percent charge in 36.2 minutes, an improvement of almost nine minutes. Cars with a standard battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just over 32 minutes, a saving of almost six minutes.
Ford Mustang Mach E Gt Prices, Specs, And Release Date
As previously announced, Mach E owners can now use the extensive Tesla Supercharger network to charge their vehicles. Ford has also added new features through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to help drivers find better routes and find public chargers.
Unlike Australia, Ford has previously offered a Mach E GT Performance flagship in the US. However, that performance hero has been dropped for 2024 and will instead be offered as part of an upgrade package for the Mach E GT.
The Performance Upgrade package gives a massive 135Nm boost to the GT’s total power and also allows the car to run at maximum power for longer thanks to “innovative thermal modeling and powertrain control algorithms”.
With the Performance Upgrade, Ford claims the 2024 Mach E can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, faster than the Telsa Model Y Performance and Porsche Macan 4 Electric, and can do the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds travel at a speed of 183 km/h.

Interestingly, owners can choose the Performance Upgrade option at the time of purchase or add it at a later date.
Ford has also improved the GT model’s standard specifications in the US, which now include premium front seats, Mangeride adaptive dampers and Brembo-branded front brake calipers.
Another major addition for 2024 is the Mach E Rally, which is now officially on sale in America for US$61,890 (AUD$93,422). The Rally features the Performance Upgrade package as standard and includes a ride height raised by 25mm, rally-inspired alloys and wheels and a host of exterior styling tweaks.

Speaking of which, a Bronze Appearance Package, which adds 20-inch Sinister Bronze painted aluminum wheels and other bronze exterior details, is also available in the United States.
The large 15.5-inch central touchscreen has also been improved for 2024, with Ford revamping the menu structure and adding new button icons to make the system easier to navigate. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are still offered as standard across the range.
The updated Ford Mustang Mach E will arrive in Australia next year. However, it is not yet clear whether the Mach E Rally will find its way Down Under.

Ford Mustang Gets Limited Edition 60th Anniversary Package
Independent designer Adan Lopez has a good idea of what a Ford Mustang Electric might look like, although there are no official indications that such a model could ever see the light of day. Still, it’s an interesting exercise that proves that the Mustang’s genes could theoretically be transferred to an all-electric model that would carry the iconic pony car’s torch deeper into the 21st century.
He actually labeled it as a 2020 model, but it makes more sense to bring it to market, for example, for 2025. The first look is enough to realize that this hypothetical creation is a Mustang. The headlights, muscular fenders, greenhouse and grille immediately give it its identity – not to mention the illuminated logos. However, the proportions have changed significantly, and for good reason.
If there is no longer a big V8 under the hood, why would you make the nose as long as the current model if a supercar-like silhouette is also feasible? That seems to be the reason behind the Mustang Electric’s shorter and lower hood. A closer look reveals that the sealed grille directs the air under a “bridge” that covers the end of the hood.
This is an interesting detail that the designer probably included for aerodynamic reasons; it certainly makes the electric pony car stand out. Viewed from the side, the Mustang Electric looks like a mid-engine supercar, especially since it has bulging vertical air intakes, presumably necessary to cool the batteries.
Ford Mustang Gtd Preview
The rear looks more aggressive than the front, with a sculpted bumper with a huge diffuser and equally large air ducts. The taillights may not look very Mustang-esque, but that’s probably intentional and emphasizes the fact that it’s unlike any other Mustang, past or present.
As for the interior, it exudes a retro Mustang vibe, despite the huge display that combines the instrument cluster with the center touchscreen.
The Mustang Electric’s hypothetical performance is indeed worthy of a supercar: the 0-96 km/h sprint is said to take 2.5 seconds and the top speed is 301 km/h. This is certainly possible thanks to the progress that batteries and electric motors have made in recent years. An eight-speed paddle shift transmission between the rear wheels can improve weight distribution, but also requires remote-mounted cantilever shock absorbers and springs. Ford calls the new Mustang GTD ‘a rocket for the road’. The limited edition car, which will go on sale next year, is essentially a race car designed to be driven legally on the streets.

If you thought internal combustion vehicles were coming, Ford might forgive you, even though the company sells the Mustang Mach-E crossover and the Lightning electric pickup.
For a nameplate approaching its 60th anniversary, the Mustang is as healthy as ever. And with the impending demise of the combustion-engined Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, the Mustang will reign as the only model of its kind you can buy.
The GTD – named after the Grand Touring Daytona racing class of the International Motor Sports Association – comes from Ford’s engineering department. Three years ago it wanted to build a stylish and advanced machine that could do fast laps around the world. That’s no small task, but Ford’s 2024 Mustang GT3, GT4 and Dark Horse R have at least delivered performance benchmarks that the GTD can meet, if not exceed.
